A. Yes.
Q. Are children okay?
A. Yes.
Q. How many people will be there?
A. Our first three gatherings attracted an average of 65 attendees. We expect similar numbers this time.
Q. Can I bring my laptop / handheld / other device?
A. PFG has adopted a 'BYO electricity' policy.
What you may bring:
- Handheld gaming devices (Nintendo DS, PSP, etc)
- Cameras and camcorders
- Any other device which operates on batteries.
What you may NOT bring:
- Desktop computers
- Televisions
- Mains-powered gaming consoles (XBox 360, PS3, Wi, etc)
- Any other device which operates on mains power.
Q. Is alcohol and/or other substances okay?
A. Alcohol is fine. Ice and eskies provided. Smoking outside in the carpark, please.
No illegal substances. No underage drinking. Dangerous and disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated. Failure to comply with these rules will result in ejection from the venue.
Q. What will I eat and drink?
A. BYO drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. We're supplying food - a sausage sizzle - and some soft drinks which should be enough to keep you going. Vego options will be available. You can bring your own food if you like.
Q. I don't know any other Perthfurs, can I come?
A. Of course. If you like, introduce yourself to one the organisers - contact details are above - or on perthfurs.net, or on the Perthfurs Livejournal community Or just say hello at the door.
Q. Are 'furry friendly' non-furries welcome?
A. Yes.
Q. How do I get an ID badge?
A. If you want a pre-printed badge with your name, species and fursona on it, be sure to RSVP and pay upfront through the form on this site.
Q. Will I have power for my electronic device?
A. No. We are operating a 'BYO electricity' policy.
We cannot guarantee availability of power for chargers/power-packs.
Q. What sort of clothing and behaviour is appropriate?
A. It's a private venue so furry accoutrements are fine. Be civil. Beyond that, use your common sense.
Q. What if I feel too shy to talk to anyone?
A. That's okay. We've all been there before. Come along with a book or a laptop if you like.
Q. Will there be tables and chairs?
A. Yes.
Q. Can I stay overnight?
A. No. We have to be cleaned up and out by 10pm.
Q. Where does the money go?
Hall hire: $200
ID badges: $80
Food: $130
Drinks: $40
Ice: $20
We expect it to cost, all up, about $500. We made a profit of $55 at the first gathering. We'll break even at about 50 people. If we make a profit, it will be be spent on future PFG events.
Q. Why is the gallery on this site only available to vouched Perthfurs.net users?
A. Some furs have expressed concern about their pictures being publicly accessible. If you are active in the Perthfur community, you will have no trouble obtaining a fully-vouched account - if you attend the PFG itself, you are virtually guaranteed the necessary vouch points.
Q. Will you be addressing concerns over security and safety?
A. Yes. We will be monitoring the carpark area after dusk, and will do more to enforce the aforementioned rules and policies.
PFG is NOT, however, responsible or liable for your actions, safety or security.
